Who Should Apply?
The 2025 pitch competition seeks innovative startups aligned with the following focus areas and pitch tracks:
Civil Rights Technology
Solutions aimed at improving government agency effectiveness and civil rights enforcement
AI for Housing and Financial Services
Innovations that promote fairness and accessibility in rental markets, appraisals, and financial services
Responsible AI & Ethical Tech
Technologies designed to reduce bias, increase transparency, and promote fairness in algorithmic systems
Pitch A: Governmental Innovations
Pitch B: Housing and Financial Services Solutions
Track 1: Innovations for improving administrative and operational effectiveness in government agencies
Track 2: Technologies that enhance investigative processes for enforcement
Track 1: Rental Market Solutions
Track 2: Technologies for improving appraisal consistency and equity in financial services
What Can Participants Expect?
What Is the Selection Process?
Free Entry: 2 free registrations to the Responsible AI Symposium
Opportunity: Pitch to our audience of 500+ including investors, corporates, fair housing and lending advocates and government officials
Feedback: Each participant will receive constructive feedback from civil rights and industry experts on their pitch and solution
Networking Opportunities: Connect with industry leaders, government officials, investors, and other startups
Exposure & Recognition: Finalists will receive significant exposure through a feature on the Responsible AI Lab’s website, and the opportunity to showcase their innovation in front of a highly engaged audience.
A selection committee will evaluate applications and choose 12 finalists—6 for Pitch A and 6 for Pitch B.
Applications will be judged based on:
• Innovative use of technology
• Relevance to pitch track focus areas
• Potential for positive change
• Implementation readiness
• Scalable impact
Entrants must provide persuasive arguments for their new technological innovations or services and demonstrate how these will enhance their respective sector.
Finalists will be announced on April 11th.
