Who Should Apply?
The 2026 pitch competition seeks innovative startups developing AI solutions that dispel the myth that there is an inherent trade-off between advancing civil rights and spurring innovation. We are open to reviewing applications that cover everything from ethics in AI, safe and secure AI systems, energy-efficient data center development, algorithmic fairness solutions, innovations in fintech, and more.
Our past pitch competition winners include Goby Homes, Fairnow, and Appraisal Insights. Recently Goby Home’s founder Terrence Nicholson was awarded the NAR Innovator of the Year Award. Apply today to take your chance at joining this year's exciting competition!
What Can Participants Expect?

Free Entry: Two free registrations to the 2026 Responsible AI Symposium.

Complimentary Hotel Stay: Complimentary hotel stay for two nights, maximum of two rooms.
- Opportunity: Pitch your company to our audience including investors, corporate sponsors, civil rights leaders and government officials.
- Feedback: Each pitch participant will receive constructive feedback from a panel of judges including civil rights leaders, investors, and tech experts.
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with industry leaders, government officials, investors, and other startups.
- Exposure & Recognition: Finalists will receive significant exposure and can win awards that include the Innovation Impact Award and the Crowd Favorite Award. A selection committee will evaluate applications and choose up to 12 finalists.
Applications will remain open until March 2, 2026 or until the twelve spots are filled.
