Richard Rothstein is a Distinguished Fellow of the Economic Policy Institute, where he contributes to EPI’s Working Economics blog, and a Senior Fellow, Emeritus, of the LDF. Mr. Rothstein has written and lectured widely about issues of equity, race, and education.
In May 2017, Rothstein published, The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America, detailing how racial segregation and the ongoing inequality that results was a function of explicit federal, state, and local policy. His new book (co-authored by Leah Rothstein, his daughter), Just Action: How to Challenge Segregation Enacted Under The Color of Law, describes what racial justice activists and supporters can organize to achieve in their own communities to redress racial segregation and its ongoing effects.
