The EU Act is the world’s first comprehensive regulatory regime to govern AI’s use and development, including General Purpose AI models. The Act entered into force on August 1, 2024, with provisions scheduled to be implemented over the course of two years culminating in 2026. This session will discuss what is next for the law and how its implementation has impacted both European society and US relations.
