James Wylie is the VP of Public Policy and Senior Fair Lending Counsel at the National Fair Housing Alliance. James previously served in the Federal career service as Deputy Director of Public Interest Examinations and Associate Director of Fair Lending Oversight at the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Senior Counsel at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and a Fair Housing Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. He also previously worked as AVP, Corporate Counsel at the State Employee Credit Union of Maryland, Maryland’s largest state-chartered credit union. He holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Oklahoma and a B.A. in History, magna cum laude, from the University of Tulsa. He holds a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager certification from the American Bankers Association and a Certified Information Privacy Professional designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He is a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers.
