Nancy L. Haynes has served as Executive Director of the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan since 1999. Before joining the Center, she was a litigation associate handling fair housing and other civil matters and served on the Center’s Board of Directors from 1996 to 1999. A graduate of Hanover College and Indiana University School of Law, Haynes leads an organization serving 38 counties in west and northern Michigan by investigating housing discrimination complaints, helping claimants enforce their rights, and providing fair housing education to housing professionals, policymakers, and community members. She also serves as First Vice President of the National Fair Housing Alliance Board of Directors and has provided consulting and training to government, nonprofit, public interest, and private-sector organizations. In Grand Rapids and beyond, she has contributed to efforts advancing inclusive housing, equitable access to opportunity, and stronger community institutions.
