Christina Tetreault is Deputy Commissioner, Office of Financial Technology Innovation, at the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI). Christina joined the DFPI in May 2021 after serving as Manager of Financial Policy for Consumer Reports. She is a lawyer whose expertise includes emerging financial technologies, innovative financial products and services, and financial data use. As Deputy Commissioner for the Office of Financial Technology Innovation, Christina is charged with creating a national model for fostering responsible innovation by offering early guidance to entrepreneurs developing financial products and services in California. She previously represented consumer interest groups on the steering committee of the Federal Reserve sponsored Faster Payments Task Force and served a term on the FDIC’s Committee on Economic Inclusion. Christina is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
