Natalie Abatemarco was a Managing Director at Citi Community Development and Investing, a division  of Citigroup, Inc. until her retirement this past April.  Ms.  Abatemarco joined Citi in 1996 and has served in a number of roles within Community Affairs, where she managed efforts to strengthen new and existing initiatives with nonprofits and consumer advocacy organizations.

Over the course of her career, Natalie has been a tireless champion for community partners. Her unparalleled professional network is a reflection of her deep ties to the community and the role she played as a trusted advisor at Citi.   She began her tenure at Citi as a Community Relations Officer covering Brooklyn, where, to this day, she can walk into a room and know how everyone is connected. Over more than two decades since, she has held roles in Citi’s various community functions, each with increasing responsibility and scope, including running the then  New York Community Relations function as its CRA Officer. 

At the national level, Natalie developed a comprehensive civil rights and advocate-relationship management function and established direct relationships with the most influential community leaders in the country. Furthermore, she used her talents and relationships during the foreclosure crisis to help thousands of struggling borrowers preserve their homeownership status. She was a long-time member of the OCC’s Minority Depository Institutions Advisory Board, as well as the more recent Project REACh. Her engagement has catalyzed a range of cutting-edge initiatives including the groundbreaking Citi Community ATM Network and as a critical contributor to Citi’s Action for Racial Equity, a one billion dollar commitment to help close the racial wealth gap. 

She continues to serve on the Board of the Long Island Community Foundation, and co-chairs the Racial Equity Funders Collaborative (REDC), which focuses on racial justice and economic self-sufficiency  for Black Long Islanders. ers.
