Samantha Pree-Stinson, IX Northside Organizing Lead. Pronouns: she/her/ella. Samantha’s work at IX focuses on the private equity portfolio in North Minneapolis and the role of private equity in housing at large. She’s the newest member on the leads team and supervises the Northside team. She came to IX through organizing with the unhoused community in Brackett Park, a community formed by women who were being sexually exploited at the Powderhorn Park encampment in Minneapolis. Her tenure as one of the lead organizers saw a large coalition of women from all walks of life supporting women in the park and helped develop a rapid re-entry program that rehomed 154 people and their families in 6 months.

She is also the first Black and Chicana elected city official in Minneapolis and is currently serving in an at-large capacity on The Board of Estimate and Taxation in her 2nd term as President. Her past work includes being the Sr. Policy Advisor for previous Minneapolis City Council Member Phillipe Cunningham, Executive Director of Association for Black Economic Power (ABEP), Unhoused/unsheltered Program Manager at Zakat, Aid and Charity Assisting Humanity (ZACAH), Sr. Compliance Auditor at Medtronic, and a US Army Sergeant serving 2 tours in Afghanistan. Samantha holds a BS in Organizational and Industrial Psychology, PMP certification, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Her passion is economic justice and community ecosystem building.
