Plenary – Reducing the Racial Wealth and Homeownership Gaps through Equitable Policies
Description

Equitable COVID-19 housing policies were critical to helping to rebound Black and Latino homeownership rates from their historic lows reached during the Great Recession. Hear from senior Biden Administration officials on the Administration’s ongoing commitment to advancing equity through the President’s Racial Executive Order on Further Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government. Administration officials will provide an overview of actions taken by executive agencies and federal regulators to advance fair housing and equitable opportunities. They will also discuss the need to continue innovative approaches such as the use of Special Purpose Credit Programs and First Generation Downpayment Assistance to ensure forward progress in underserved communities and for the economy.
